a community-model
birth center for Tulsa
welcome to
Midtown Birth Center
Set in a beautifully restored historic home, Tulsa’s newest open-model birth center offers a community space where families can experience the intimacy of homebirth away from home under the care of their chosen midwife.
a research-backed approach
for better outcomes
Research consistently shows that birth centers improve outcomes for families—
lowering rates of interventions and cesarean births while increasing satisfaction and safety.
By grounding our care in this research-backed model, we are able to offer families the best of both worlds: an intentionally-planned birth environment supported by evidence,
and a warm, personal setting that honors the natural process of birth.
A home-like birth space created to make natural birth as intuitive as possible
-
Our beds feature crisp 100% cotton sheets paired with a soft linen duvet.
[because natural birth comes with plenty of discomforts, you deserve nice sheets to cuddle into when you’re finally holding baby in your arms]
-
Probably our favorite birth tool!
Our Didymos birth sling (also called a birth rope) is such a game-changer when it comes to being upright in labor without exhausting yourself.
Humans have been using hanging ropes to support upright birth since ancient times, and once you try it out, you’ll understand why! -
Remote-controlled adjustable beds bring the convenience of a hospital bed into our home-like setting.
They come in super handy for positioning in labor and nursing immediately postpartum.
-
We’ve chosen inflatable birth pools because they are so much more comfortable when kneeling or leaning over the side. They’re also taller than most ceramic tubs, which helps with deeper immersion.
Waterbirth, also called “the midwife’s epidural”, can help reduce pain and increases mobility, while offering babies a gentle transition into the world. -
Your facility fee includes all basic birth supplies, plus thoughtful extras like perineal cold packs, Depends, and more.
-
Every part of Midtown Birth Center has been intentionally designed to be as intuitive as possible for both clients and midwives.
Some of these details, like an always-ready resuscitation cart, can save valuable time when minutes count.
distance to
Tulsa area hospitals
One reason you may be considering a birth center is the close proximity to a hospital in case a transfer becomes necessary.
Though emergency transfers are rarely needed, it can be comforting to know that Midtown Birth Center is only minutes from all four major Tulsa hospitals—blending the intimacy of a home-like setting with the peace of nearby support if needed.
